The Inaugural Jania Mania Race for Veteran Charities

The Proffitt Brothers Foundation® (PBF) proudly announces the inaugural Jania Mania Race for Veteran Charities as our newest featured cause. We hope you’ll join us on July 15th as we race to raise money for some amazing organizations that are on the frontlines working to get veterans the care they deserve. There will be three options for racing as well as many other opportunities to get involved via volunteering, sponsorships, and donations. Two 5k races will take place, one virtual and one in person, as well as a 3k family fun run/walk. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

Registration for the 5k is just $30 and includes an event tee shirt and wrist band. The 3k has a registration fee of $20 for participants over the age of 18, and $15 for youth from ages 5 to 17, with wrist bands included for all ages. The in-person events will take place on July 15th beginning at 9am at the Central Park of Morris County, 91 Central Avenue, Parsippany, New Jersey.

Can’t race but want to get involved? Volunteers are needed to keep the event running smoothly, with numerous sponsorship levels available as well (more information below).

Jania Mania is inspired and coordinated by high school junior Everett Jania, who recently began an internship with PBF. Jania wanted to do something special to show his support for veterans' causes, and as an avid runner, a charity race was the fitting way to bring people together to raise funds for our nation’s heroes. “The Jania Mania Race for Veteran Nonprofits is the culmination of my passion for running and my desire to give back to the community,” says Everett.

All of the proceeds from this event will be distributed to four unique nonprofits that are working directly with veterans in our local communities:

Project Healing Waters brings a high-quality, full-spectrum fly fishing program, as a therapeutic tool, to an ever-expanding number of disabled active military service personnel across the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, in Military Hospitals, and the Warrior Transition Command.

Determined to end veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill shelters, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.

Live Water Foundation inspires and empowers military veterans through on-water activity such as stand-up paddle-boarding, kayaking, and river clean-ups. As a 100% volunteer supported organization, LWF couldn’t make their programs possible without the committed gifts of their generous sponsors and donors.

Finally, Valhalla Sailing Project is a non-profit dedicated to promoting awareness and advocating for the mental and physical wellbeing of our nation’s transitioning veterans. Through the sport of competitive sailing, they offer wounded, disabled, and evolving members an experience that replicates the sense of teamwork and camaraderie that so many veterans find absent in their post-service lives.
