The Gregory B. Proffitt ESQ. Memorial Endowed Emergency Resource Fund

Gregory (Greg) B. Proffitt, Esq., earned a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997. Greg was Vice President and General Counsel of Spartan Medical, Inc., in Rockville, MD, and was previously employed as an attorney at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, and Robb Leonard Mulvihill LLP of Pittsburgh, PA. He was also a proud U.S. Marine. A beloved father to Alexander and Mia, husband, and brother, he was an avid Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan and U.S. history buff.

The Proffitt Brothers Foundation was created in July 2018 to honor the vision and mission of Greg, who passed away unexpectedly in May 2018. Greg spent his life advocating for others and giving to those in need, particularly children’s causes. He worked very hard and paid his own way through college and law school and was exceptionally proud of this accomplishment. It is in this spirit that we honor Greg’s memory by creating The Gregory B. Proffitt Esq. Memorial Endowed Emergency Resource Fund at his alma mater to assist Thomas R. Kline School of Law students who are facing hardship, including the loss of a parent.
